“Warrior Comeback + Giveback Day” Event
Sunday, September 27, 2026
Waiākea High School campus
9am - 12pm (meet at WHS cafeteria - doors open 8:30am)
Weʻre inviting all Waiākea alumni, past + present teachers, coaches, administrators, faculty and staff, and their ohana, to put on any WHS apparel join us for the WARRIOR COMEBACK!
Come back to campus as a family of alumni…come with your co-workers, cousins, friends, aunties or uncles…come with your“future Warriors”…it doesn’t matter who you come with, just come!
Check out your old stomping grounds, reminisce about all the good times in The Quad, and check out the new facilities! Or if you just want an excuse to get “da boyz” or “da girls” together, this is the perfect opportunity to gather, share stories and memories! And the best part? Itʻs not just your class…weʻre talking 50 YEARS OF WARRIORS!
We will have a photo booth + 360 video booth provided by Joycelyn Cabal (Class of 2001) of JeiAngel Digital Designs, music in the Quad (just like the good ole days!) provided by Reid Kubo (Class of 1998) + Aaron Caceres (Class of 1997) + Al Kina (Class of 1986), and Scott Yoshizumi (Class of 1996) from KWXX will be on the mic!
All the kids (and kids at heart!) should bring their kendamas because we’re planning something special with Snarkle Rocks, and we’ll also have a Trivia + Scavenger Hunt for anyone who wants to join the fun! Guided campus tours will be available if you want to learn more about Waiākea High’s history and hear a few ghost stories! We will also set up a Memorial table if anyone would like to bring a photo of a fellow WHS Alumni who has passed.
To commemorate the WARRIOR COMEBACK there will be a 50th Anniversary commemorative aerial group pic in The Quad by Andrew Hara (Class of 2004)! This has never been done before so round up alllll your teammates, classmates and fellow WHS alumni!
And we can’t go back on campus without doing a WARRIOR GIVEBACK campus service project! It’s the perfect way to give back to our alma mater and future Warriors! The school has asked us to repaint the benches around campus, so we hope a lot of you can help us!
After putting in the work, those who purchased “Hilo kine” bentos from Blanes Drive Inn (Rochelle Tamiya, Class of 1987) and Kagimotos (Chelsee Kagimoto, Class of 2007) can enjoy their ono lunch! Waiākea Water has been donated by Geoli Ng (Class of 1988). The Boom Bakery + Coffee Shop (“Uncle Boom” - Bryston Savella, Class of 2005) and “Aunty Boom” Nikki Savella, Class of 2003) have donated cupcakes and macarons!
WHS class fundraisers will also be around campus if you need a cool treat - Class of 2027 will be selling Teapresso and Donn Yamamoto and his Digital Media group will be selling Dole Whip! To top it all off, MaruMaru Hawaii (Tania Takashiba, Class of 1998 and Kara Iopa, Class of 1994) will be doing GIVEAWAYS ALL DAY LONG!
**Our remaining inventory of “Waiākea das why” limited edition merchandise will be available for purchase! And if you pre-ordered or previously forgot to pickup your order, we will have a pickup table at the cafeteria!**
We are sooooo grateful to all the amazing WHS Alumni who are donating their time, service and products to help make this event a success! Aside from those listed above, sending thanks out to Brandee Agliam, Class of 1999 and Kaelyn Uchida, Class of 2018!
