WHS is a wall-to-wall academy school, meaning that all students and adults are part of an academy. Through these academies, students progress in the six General Learner Outcomes (GLOs) with particular emphasis on employability skills.

After a year of exploration in the Freshman Academy, students choose from one of 12 career pathways and join that career academy. Academies include Industry + Technology, Arts + Communication, Health Services and Public Services.
